THE CARAVAN OF THE FUTURE
2007 was a big year for the NEC show as it hosted one of the most anticipated events in the caravan industry - the official unveiling of The Caravan club's 'Caravan of the Future' as part of its centenary celebrations.
The unveiling (from underneath a Pro-Tec Cover), which was on Saturday 17th February at 12pm, is the culmination of a competition The Caravan Club launched in 2005 asking people to design a caravan to reflect the changing ways in which people enjoy their leisure time and the ever progressing technological advances in the world.
Judges for the competition included designer Wayne Hemmingway; Jason Rowe (Chief Materials Engineer for Lotus Cars); Graham Beacom (Director General of the National Caravan Council); Professor Robert Kronenburg (Chair of Architecture at Liverpool University); and Ted Holt (Vice Chairman of The Caravan Club).
Pro-Tec Covers has also made the transport cover to protect the caravan while it is being transported to and from its various shows. Here it is arriving at the NEC on the 15th February 2007.
