So why is a Pro-Tec Cover more expensive than those from our competitors?

• The microporous membrane chosen by Pro-Tec is both waterproof and breathable. It exhales condensation but does not inhale water and dust. The microscopic pores are 500 times smaller in diameter than water droplets. This membrane is patented and cannot be copied. Gortex and your skin are waterproof but only breathe through body heat, think about it and then check the facts yourself. Only Pro-Tec have achieved the perfect balance protecting your investment with a waterproof naturally breathable cover. If you cannot breathe through it neither can your vehicle.

People reasearching covers and breathability have asked why we did not win the Practical Caravan test in 2003?

• Product Test Report...
  "Practical Caravan" Magazine, 2003. ***** Rating. Verdict :  .... keeps moisture out better than all the others".  This .... cover is evidently the most breathable of all those tested". (An independant technical test on the fabrics standard BS EN 14268: 2002 Water vapour permeability proved this statement to be incorrect) This report is available for inspection on request. The fabric used in this test is not the same as the fabric now used and cannot be taken as a testimonial for todays products.

• Pro-Tec demonstrate that our covers do not scratch windows or damage paintwork by attaching fabric to a sanding disk. This is fitted to an electric drill and then run it against the caravan window, with no ill effect.
• The test report highlighted very little difference between the covers at that time and we decided to substantially upgrade our fabric. We trust that our fabric is now the best available and it is also made in this country.

  • We recently commissioned an independent test on our material and that of our nearest competitor the results clearly show that Protex 003 is significantly more permeable than that of our nearest competitor. Please feel free to contact us for a copy of this report.

As well as that - we are caravanners ourselves, so we naturally wanted the very best from a cover for our caravan, and this has led to the development of a far superior material, which we use today. We are pleased to say that this material is available only to us and is patented.

Whether Winter or Summer, we know you will benefit from ALL YEAR ROUND protection with our revolutionary fabric Protex 003, which was introduced in 2003. This fabric is tried and tested and is proven to stand the test of time, unlike many of our competitors who regularly change their fabrics.

Protex 003 provides protection against ultra-violet (UV) ray damage, mould, rust, dirt, bird droppings and condensation.

Protex 003 is a Tri-Laminated material made up of the following layers:

Coloured top layer
UV stabilised so you can use all year round.

Central Membrane
Provides a waterproof protection whilst retaining its breathable properties, allowing naturally occuring water vapour to escape.

Lower Layer
A soft non-abrasive inner lining ensuring no scratching or marking to your windows or bodywork. Unlike many other covers available, you will never have to protect your windows with other materials whilst our cover is on. We are the only company to date who are happy to carry out the "scratch test", regularly displaying this at shows. 

Our fabric comes in two different colours, Green for rural areas and Grey for built up areas.
